Since the enactment of the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, legislative enforcement, authentication
technologies, and ever-increasing vigilance by ISPs have preserved email as a reliable
and virtually ubiquitous communication method for businesses and consumers. Nevertheless,
the Internet remains plagued by SPAM, phishing attacks, viruses, spyware and other
malicious or illegal practices. In this environment, legitimate email marketers
